YET ANOTHER KILLER

The world is dealing with a war, which attacks the innocent. This new killer stems from the East claming the lives of the week. What is it? I can’t say! As far as the news reports go it is a new string of Pneumonia, The reports also say that all known cases have originated from the Orient. This new killer has the same characteristics, as chickenpox, measles and the deadly smallpox with its symptoms resemble the common cold.

Are we (Trinidad & Tobago) ready to deal with this? How is the ministry of health going to combat this killer before it rips through our nation? The people in the Orient have been told to wear respirators; I cannot see how this will stop the virus from infecting someone, as basic respirators in my opinion are not designed for that purpose.

I think this is something we need to attack before it attacks us. Issue travel advisories to people traveling from home to seek medical advice, The ministry should research the virus and publish the relevant information in the newspapers, also have people traveling to Trinidad & Tobago from known infected areas obtain a medical certificate before traveling.

Can our health system deal with an epidemic such as this? Lets not find out.
